My Skincare Routine-2014 Blogger Challenge

So I think I am just as obsessed with skincare as I am with makeup.  I am very meticulous about my skincare routine and the products that I put on my face.  I am not married to any one brand or product, but I do tend to stick with something if it seems to be working.  I will experiment and be open to new products, so there is nothing set in stone.  My only requirement is that it must be cruelty-free.

My regimen breaks down into about 7 different areas:  morning cleanser, toner, serum, eye cream, moisturizer, night cleanser, & weekly exfoliator & mask.

MORNING CLEANSER
I am very fond of my two current cleansers.  The Balm Cosmetics TimeBalm White Tea & Rose Face Cleanser is a great product I picked up on a Hautelook haul.  I was able to get it at a 50% discount so I wasn’t spending full price on something I wasn’t sure about.  The Pacifica Sea Foam Complete Face Wash is from an ipsy product swap.  Both of these cleansers are very refreshing and just what I need to wake up in the morning!

TONER & SERUM
After I cleanse, I tone and put on my serum, day & night.  I have been pretty consistent with using the Michael Todd Cranberry Antiox Hydrating Anti-Aging Toner.  Super refreshing and it helps to get off any dirt from the “nooks & crannies” AKA fine lines & wrinkles.  My morning serum is the The Balm TimeBalm Strawberry Nourishing Facial Serum, also a Hautlook pick up.  I like this serum because it firms my skin and really smooths out any lines.  My nighttime serum is the Michael Todd Antiox Serum.

EYE CREAM
After my serum, comes my eye cream.  I never used eye cream until the day my opthamologist asked me if I suffered from dry eye and I said yes.  His response was that he could tell from the fine lines around my eyes…WHAT?!?!  I have tried many different eye creams and I have not found one as effective as Benefit’s It’s Potent Eye Cream.  It is rich in texture, but actually quite light on the skin when applied.  It definitely helps to fill in those pesky lines.  I use eye cream after my serum day & night.

MOISTURIZER
I have definitely noticed an increased dryness as I have gotten older.  I moisturize day & night after my serum and eye cream.  I picked up The Balm’s TimeBalm White Tea & Vanilla Oil-Absorbing Face Moisturizer on Hautelook and it’s been a nice addition to my regimen.  It almost has a powdery feel to it, which I’m sure is why it is oil-absorbing.  I was also sent the Steamcream for review purposes and I have fallen in love.  I didn’t think I would be using it on my face when I received it, but it is such a great multi-tasking moisturizer!  It does the job without the heaviness of a moisturizer you would use on your body.  I will be doing a full review of Steamcream in a week or so.  I really just alternate between the TimeBalm & Steamcream in the morning.  At night, I have been using Benefit’s Total Moisture Facial Cream.  This moisturizer is meant for dry to normal skin which is why I use it at night.  I feel like it would be way to heave for me to use during the day.

NIGHT CLEANSING OIL
I just recently picked up the Tatcha Pure One Step Camellia Cleaning Oil.  I feel like cleansing oil is the only thing that really get off all my makeup, and I hate to use a cleaning oil and then a cleanser.  This baby is all-in-one!  It smells amazing…a very subtle citrus scent and leaves my skin baby soft.  I do this as soon as I get home from work, and then before bed I use my toner, serum, eye cream, & moisturizer.

WEEKLY (OR EVERY FEW DAYS)
I love to do a face mask on Sunday nights…It is like a spa ritual for me.  I picked up the Michael Todd Rose Petal Vitamin C Gel Facial Mask on a recent sale they had going on.  I actually picked up two, so there is a future giveaway on the horizon:)  I love the scent of roses ❤  and this mask definitely has that as its first ingredient is Rosa Damascene, AKA roses.  It also contains acai extract and glycolic acid to aid in the fight against fine lines & wrinkles.  I also exfoliate my face in the shower a few times a week using the Michael Todd Jojoba Charcoal Facial Scrub.  I actually received this in one of my first ever ipsy bags and fell in love with it (hence why I now use so many of their other products…This is a great brand if you haven't checked them out:)

I hope you have enjoyed reading about my skincare routine.  Tell me about the types of products you have fallen in love with to take care of your skin!
