So I think it is pretty safe to say that when I saw CBD making its way into the beauty and skincare realm I was beyond excited.  I will admit I was consciously incompetent about my knowledge of CBD, but what I did know about it was that it was amazing!  My first edible CBD experience got me through hurricane shopping calmly and stress free, and if you have ever experienced hurricane preparedness in South Florida, then you know hurricane shopping is anything BUT relaxing LOL 🤣

 

Now that CBD had made its way into skincare, I felt it was my “skincare aficionado” responsibility to do my research to really understand the inclusion of CBD as an ingredient.  I voluntarily jumped into the CBD rabbit hole🐇 Luckily this new project coincided with a new brand connection I had just made.  I was really excited when WLDKAT Skin reached out to me with the opportunity of trying out a few of their products and becoming a partner.  Keep reading to learn about the brand, my thoughts on a few of their goodies and what else I already have my eye on!

About the Brand 💜

So WLDKAT Skin is actually a really cool brand!  Their mission, which they refer to as their Ethos (affirmation of your identity, values, standards, and goals) was something I could totally relate with and only the beginning of the many things I have learned and loved about them…I am all about self worship!

They run a pretty clean ship over at WLDKAT!  The “Never Ever List” on their site is pretty extensive….no parabens, phthalates, sulfates (SLS/SLES), silicones, petrochemicals, coal tar, chemical sunscreens, per- / polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), urea or synthetic fragrances.

On the flip side, their “Hell Yes List” is longer and pretty awesome!  Yes to CBD, vitamins, minerals, adaptogens, amino acids, antioxidants, proteins, probiotics, AHA/BHA/PHA, hyaluronic acid, herbs, essential oils.

We always want to see more female owned and fronted brands.  Did you know that only 16% of venture-backed companies are founded by women??? I am big on women supporting women, so supporting WLDKAT is a no brainer…I will fix your crown before anyone realizes it’s a little crooked.  Let’s focus on lifting each other up…Fight the power!

Seeing a brand be so sustainability driven is really motivating.  This is such a huge area of opportunity across the board in the world of consumerism.  WLDKAT sources their packaging materials from post-consumer resin (PCR), waste (PCW) and post-industrial waste (PIW).  This also includes ocean plastics, which is a huge issue across the planet.  They also work with factories that use renewable wind energy.  Now that, in my opinion, is really taking legitimate steps to decreasing their carbon footprint.  Last, but not least, they are made in the USA!

Oh but wait, it gets better! 🠊 They are vegan & cruelty free!!!  You know those are non-negotiables 🐇🌺

OK, now that you are ready to love them as much as I do, let’s get into the products…

The item I was immediately drawn to and was #1 on my list to try from the line is their Ginger + Kombucha Bubbling Skin Tonic.  My hopes were for this to provide the same benefits as my favorite glow tonic PLUS all the goodness that CBD brings to the formula. This is now a holy grail product💗

 

I have to tell you…I fell in love with this.  It has had such a beautiful, refreshing, and glowing effect on my skin.  It plays well with other skincare from other brands in my collection and my skin just absorbs it happily.  Sometimes I have even gone in with it twice, before my serum, just because it feels so freaking good😍  The WLDKAT Ginger + Kombucha Bubbling Skin Tonic  is infused with a generous 150mg of broad spectrum CBD, as well as, some other lovely ingredients:

Glycerin – shields skin from environmental pollutants, works with other ingredients to enhance penetration and retain moisturization, fortifies and strengthens the skin’s moisture barrier, improves skin’s resiliency

Kombucha (Black Tea Ferment) – reduces signs of aging, diminishes fine line and wrinkles, promotes the production of elastic and collagen in the skin, natural antioxidant and protects your skin against damage by pollutants, sun, and free radicals 

Tamarind Seed – boosts skin elasticity, provides hydration and smoothness, contains hyaluronic acid that helps in skin moisturization and smoothes fine lines and wrinkles

Chamomile Flower Extract – calming, soothing and anti-inflammatory properties, promotes faster wound healing, supports the skin’s blood flow and circulation, revitalizes dull skin and boosts the skin’s vitality for a balanced complexion and texture

Ginger Root Oil – powerful antiseptic that get under skin and kills acne-causing bacteria, tones, cleanses, & purifies skin, anti-inflammatory & antioxidant properties for anti-aging benefits, improves skin’s elasticity, helps reduce scar pigmentation, soothes and heals burns and blisters

Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil – Comedogenic score of zero, moderates oil production, moisturizes and soothes inflammation, treats atopic dermatitis, linoleic acid and oleic acids help reduce fine lines and wrinkles as well as prevent signs of aging from developing

Meadowsweet Flower Extract – contains salicylic acid which is a natural exfoliator, anti-inflammatory properties help reduce redness, itchiness and rashes, reduces skin tenderness of skin, contains astringent properties to tone, tighten & brighten the skin

Next up in their line, and now a regular in my daily makeup bag is the WLDKAT Cupuacu + Mango Butter Lip Balm 🥭 I am a big fan of lip balms.  I use them in the morning at the end of my skincare, throughout the day, and after my night time routine so my lips don’t get overly dry while I’m sleeping.  Their lip balm comes in two shades: O.G. which is clear and Headband which is a pH adjusting pink, both with a subtle minty taste and feel. 

 

I have really been enjoying this as well.  It was also my go-to lip balm while on vacation in the Florida Keys and it helped keep my lips moisturized, even after that one day that I forgot to reapply sunscreen and had a bit of a sunburn 🌞 Infused with 50mg of CBD, this is one of the highest concentrates in a lip product I could find on the market.  It also contains quite a bit of amazing ingredients if you ask me…but you can definitely be the judge!

Pomegranate Extract – super fruit ingredient packed with antioxidants, increases skin’s moisture levels, enhances skin’s barrier to protect against environmental stressors

Shea Butter – contains a myriad of regenerative vitamins and essential fatty acids, providing a welcome dose of moisture, hydrating and nourishing the skin, effective moisturizer which teams up with other ingredients to give skin a glowy boost ✨

Castor Seed Oil – lubricates and tones dry skin, antifungal and anti-inflammatory properties help manage skin conditions such as eczema, antibacterial fatty acids cleanse and heal skin & acne,  reduces wrinkles and age spots, helps boost the production of collagen and elastin in the skin

Coconut Oil – One of the best natural moisturizers, natural antiviral properties and a hefty dose of vitamin E that helps keep major skin conditions under control

Jojoba Oil – helps unclog pores by dissolving sebum, helps keep moisture locked inside the skin, improves skin’s elasticity, useful for softening and smoothing the skin

Olive Fruit Oil – helps reduce chronic inflammation that causes wrinkles and age spots, antioxidants seek and neutralize free radicals, keeps skin’s moisture balanced, stimulates circulation and elimination of toxins, gives a boost to overall quality, health and tone of the skin, reduces damage of UV rays

Grapeseed Oil – perfect for sensitive skin, helps safeguard the collagen & elastin of the skin, and anti-aging properties, high Vitamin E content works as an antioxidant and fights free radicals that damage skin

Mango Seed Butter – moisturizing essential fatty acids, helps add moisture as it tightens and firms the skin, natural source of Vitamins A & C, reduces the appearance of fine lines & wrinkles, protects from environmental stressors

Cupuacu Seed Butter – natural emollient rich in fatty acids, effective moisturizer for dry, sensitive skin, high levels of Vitamins K & E, rich in antioxidants to repair damage to the skin from free radicals, anti-inflammatory properties protect skin against the signs of aging, soothes skin infections leaving skin healthy and ready to self repair

The third and final item I have had the pleasure to test out from WLDKAT Skin is their Coconut Water + Noni Fruit Electrolyte Spray 🥥 The absolute best thing you can do with this mist is store it in the fridge and O-M-G you will not regret it!  What a light and refreshing way to wake up the skin, especially in the South Florida heat!

 

Let me just say I was really impressed when I saw 150mg of CBD in this product.  Typical facial mists I found on the market did not exceed 100mg, and again this is the type of product that can easily provide a quick boost of benefits!  This also played very well with my makeup as I usually apply a quick spritz before I walk into work every morning 🌅  Again, it is not always about the CBD content, but the other ingredients in this mist, along with all the other WLDKAT Skin products I tried, really speak for themselves 💖
