I definitely think there are two factors at play…1st 🠊 my age, I’m 42 and I have definitely noticed my skin getting drier with age starting in my 30s. 2nd 🠊 while we may not get your typical winter down here, the weather fluctuations really mess with my skin. Right now we are looking at temperatures in the 50s after a weekend in the high 80s and then back up in a couple of days! 😕

The brand was kind enough to send over a few items specifically for my skincare concerns, dryness and anti aging 🤷 The Gentle Cleansing Lotion, Clarifying Toner, and Glow Facial Oil have been in my skincare rotation for several weeks now…Just keep reading to check out my thoughts 😊
Gentle Cleansing Lotion
I figured I would share my thoughts in the order I use the products in my skincare routine, so first up is the California Pure Naturals Gentle Cleansing Lotion. I am obsessed with aloe vera in anything 🌿 So no surprise when I checked out the ingredients and the very first one listed is Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice. I especially enjoy using this lotion at night because it does a great job adding some much needed moisturization. I don’t use it in the morning because sometimes I just splash water on my face or I go for something with a little more zing to help me wake up 🍊 LOL
If I want to maximize my moisturization experience with this cleansing lotion, I go in with my BFF tool and make it a spa moment 😉 Key ingredients are aloe vera, Bentonite, blackberry, kiwi, pomegranate, and grape extracts, shea butter, chamomile, jojoba oil, and licorice root 🍇 It does have a nice berry fruit scent that lingers subtly. I really like the overall formula, texture, and how it leaves my skin feeling…plus it does great getting rid of dirt and makeup 👍
Clarifying Toner
The next step is my skincare routine is toner. My go-to toner is a also a chemical exfoliant so their Clarifying Toner was definitely different. I am actually considering experimenting by using both toners to see how that makes my skin feel overall. Since I do have dry skin, I like to maintain a high level of exfoliation to keep my skin looking fresh and glowy ✨ I do have a few secondary skincare concerns, such as enlarged pores, age spots, and redness. This toner is a lovely formula to address them, while still imparting moisture and nourishment 😁
Much like the cleansing lotion and the majority of the products in their line, the first ingredient is once again aloe vera and is also formulated with their proprietary Blackberry Antioxidant Complex. Additional key ingredients are sea salt, rose geranium extract, cucumber extract, orange peel extract, carrot root extract, and hyaluronic acid.
Rose geranium extract is wonderful for detoxifying and anti aging, while cucumber does wonders for calming and soothing the skin…both leaving me with that, “I woke up like this!” glow 💛
Glow Facial Oil
Facial oils are a total favorite of mine 💖 They really are luxurious, rich, and magical potions 🔮 I love using this between my toner and my moisturizer. Rather than an aloe vera based formula, California Pure Naturals’ Glow Facial Oil uses Jojoba seed oil as its carrier for its Blackberry Antioxidant Complex and other luxe ingredients, such as argan, evening primrose, lavender, geranium, borage seed, raspberry seed, cranberry seed, rosehip, linseed, grapefruit peel, and basil oils. WOW! That was a pretty long list of beautiful extracts 💕
Argan oil is a great source of fatty acids and Vitamin E, softening skin and helping to relieve dry and damaged skin. I was incredibly curious about Borage seed oil. I actually had a Borage plant in my previous home and it was such a beautiful shade of bluish purple 💙💜 Rich in the fatty acid, Gamma Linolenic Acid, this plant actually helps to restore skin’s youthful suppleness and helps to provide relief of eczema, psoriasis, and dermatitis. Does it get any better?!?!
All in all, I have really enjoyed the skincare goodies I received from California Pure Naturals 🌊 The ingredients are amazing and I love how eco~conscious they are as a brand 🌎
