I was especially excited about the long term expectations since turning 40 I have been extra vigilant about taking care of my skin. I am notorious for forgetting a few steps in my routine but after I turned the big 4-0 it was my birthday resolution to stay on track. I know I always preach consistency, but even the best of us need to hold ourselves accountable to stay on track! 😉
Short term I can say I definitely notice the nourished skin and luminous complexion but I was fighting a pretty nasty chin breakout when I first started testing out the Valentia Night Revive Retinol Serum. It was bad enough that I was trying first aid ointments to calm my skin and help heal the individual bumps. This stuff was magic! I really wasn’t expecting such a quick turnout in helping clear up my chin disaster but it really got the job done…I would even venture to say that this is a great spot treatment for pesky one off pimples that may arise!

The serum packaging is standard Valentia! I love the apothecary style amber bottle with the chic & modern white, black, and gold labeling. It’s a very cool combination that brings together two very unique qualities that resonate in the actual product. The traditional apothecary where medicines and potions were mixed using botanical and plant derived ingredients is brought into modern day with science and research and Valentia was born!
Rather than the more common pump, this serum is actually dispensed using the even more traditional dropper which I think is good for controlling the amount of product that I want to use, as well as, maintaining the integrity of the product for a longer period of time. Serums tend to expire faster than other skincare products, so the more I can extend its longevity, the better!
The formula itself is rich and creamy, but very lightweight as well. It absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave any kind of weird residue or stickiness. I let this dry before I apply my eye cream and moisturizer.
Directions are pretty straight forward. Natural ingredients tend to separate so make sure to shake the bottle before dispensing the serum. I apply about a dropperful of the Valentia Night Revive Retinol Serum nightly to a clean face and decollete. I let that dry a bit and then I follow the serum with my Valentia True Glow Eye Cream and their Pure Glow Brightening Moisturizer. In the morning my skin feels healthy and hydrated😊
