I have been spending a lot of time focusing on my facial skincare, and haven’t really thought about my body…that’s skin too right?!?! Well, the skin on our bodies can take just as hard of a beating, if not worse, than our facial skin. With this scrub, I have been able to uncover a new, softer skin that feels healthy and radiant. A Girl’s Gotta Spa was founded by Shannon Smyth in order to promote her mission that everyone deserves to be pampered! I have to say I completely agree…Sometimes we go through the motions of life not really stopping to do just that..pamper ourselves in order to better our mind, body, and soul. So was born her line of cruelty free, natural, and vegan bath and body products. This line is also Leaping Bunny and Logical Harmony certified which in the cruelty free world is a pretty big deal.
Aside from the Energizing Citrus Salt Scrub (left), she has also developed an Energizing Citrus Body Wash (right), and an Energizing Citrus Body Lotion (center). All three products work well on their own, but when combined really provide the skin with a complete spa experience at home. By using all three, the energizing citrus scent is being layered in a multifaceted way as the pink grapefruit, orange, lemon, and lime oils are deposited on the skin and absorbed. Heaven! 🍊🍋
The A Girl’s Gotta Spa Energizing Citrus Salt Scrub is a pretty generous size at 10 oz!
As soon as I received this scrub I was pretty impressed with both size and packaging. I know glass jars are extremely chic and beautiful but when it comes to keeping things in the shower, I am all about sturdiness and practicality. This jar is a thick frosted plastic with a twist off plastic lid that is covered by an aluminum looking cap. I’m not sure if the cap is actually aluminum or if it is plastic made to look like aluminum. What I can say is that the lid has not shown any signs of rust and really adds a professional spa look to the whole package. After all, it is meant to be a spa experience in the comfort of my home! This jar looks super chic on my bathroom shelf 💛🛀

Mediterranean Sea Salt, Israeli Dead Sea Salt, Oryza Sativa (Rice Bran) Oil, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Peel, Moroccan Citrus Sinensis (Orange) Peel, Aurantifolia (Lime) Peel Powder, Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Extract, Citrus Paradisii (Pink Grapefruit) Oil, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Oil, Citrus Aurantifolia (Lime) Oil, Citrus Sinensis (Orange) Oil, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Beta Vulgris (Beet) Root Powder
The formula itself smells amazing! The essential oils of lime, lemon, orange, and pink grapefruit definitely come through but are not overwhelming. The consistency is more on the crumbly side, but when applied to the skin I had no issues with product falling off. It was pretty good at hanging on to the skin so that I could massage it in.
Because it is a salt-based scrub, be careful with any nicks, cuts, or scratches you may have on the skin as you will feel it! I had a few cuts on my arm, and I could definitely feel the sting. It isn’t anything you can’t handle, but like the saying goes, don’t rub salt in the wounds! 🤣
The balance of salt scrub and skin moisturizing oils come together in a perfect balance. My favorite way to use this scrub is after I have completely bathed. I like to shut the water off in the shower to apply so that no water gets into my open container.
A handful of the Energizing Citrus Salt Scrub goes a long way and spreads easily over the skin allowing for the scrub to be massaged in to slough away dead skin cells that make the skin look dull and lifeless.
Once I have massaged it all over…taking care to avoid any sensitive areas, I turn the water on briefly only to wash away the grains of salt. Once the salt it washed off, I shut the water off and pat dry the skin so as not to rub off the oils and let them work their magic🌟 This leaves behind the oh so lovely essential oils that leave the skin feeling super smooth and soft and smelling sweet and citrusy 🍊💛🍋
