Maple Holistics Product Review & Giveaway

I love being able to share my experiences and products with my readers…  When Maple Holistics asked me to try out some of their products and give some away to my readers I just couldn’t say no!

Maple Holistics is a 100% cruelty free & vegan friendly brand.  They also offer their Holistic Promise.  If for any reason you are not fully satisfied with your MH experience they will replace your purchase with a more suitable product or provide a full refund.  Not many companies tote that kind of confidence in their products!
All of Maple Holistics’ hair care products are sulfate free and safe for color treated hair.  This was extremely important to me as being pretty much full gray I color my hair every 3-4 weeks.  The worst is coloring your hair and then watching it go down the drain (literally) because the shampoo and conditioner strip the color right off.
Having used this product for 2-3 weeks consistently (6-8 washes) I am amazed at how well I have retained my color.

Aside from shampoo & conditioner, Maple Holistics also offers products such as bath salts, bubble bath, hair gel, beard oil, eye cream, and facial masks.  They are also working on adding more products to their line on a consistent basis.
For testing and review purposes I opted for Maple Holistics’ Degrease Moisture Control Shampoo, Silk 18 Conditioner, and Vitamin C Anti Aging Serum.  I wish I could have tried their bubble bath or bath salts, but alas, I only have a shower.  Like I mentioned above, I am really pleasantly surprised as to how much color I have been able to retain and it’s been about 2 1/2 weeks since I colored.

Degrease Moisture Control Shampoo (Available in 8 & 16 oz)
I opted for this shampoo because while my ends are quite dry my scalp can be quite oily…like combination skin, I also have combination hair!  If I could describe how this smells I would have to go with the word Christmas.  The rosemary and lemon is so refreshing, and add to that basil and cypress…you just want to inhale and relax.  The formula also contains jojoba, peach kernel, and botanical keratin.  I was really excited about the keratin because due to coloring for so many years my hair is incredibly damaged.  The consistency of the formula is quite thick and lathers very well.  This was very different from many of the sulfate free shampoos I have used in the past.  When I was shampooing in the shower, I definitely felt like it was cleansing my hair.
The results?  My hair has been incredibly voluminous and shiny, and no more oily or itchy scalp!  I am tempted to let me kids try this but I don’t want them using about all my product…LOL!

Silk 18 Conditioner (Available in 8 & 16 oz)
I went with this conditioner due to some of the same reasons I went with the Degrease Shampoo.  Due to coloring for so long, my hair is quite damaged, dry, and brittle, especially at the ends.  The ingredients in this conditioner are all about providing a silky smooth finish.  Silk  amino acids strengthen and restore the hair, while jojoba, argan oil, aloe vera and shea butter provide major moisturization and softness!  Then there is green tea which aids in hair growth…this was a big deal for me because my hair grows so sloooowwwwww!  Pomegranate, sea buckthorn, and botanical keratin to help repair all the crazy damage.  With just a hint of 100% natural vanilla the scent of this conditioner is just so yummy!  The formula itself is also quite thick and you can feel the difference in the shower, as opposed to, more of the watered down varieties out on the market.
The results?  This conditioner was great at de-tangling my hair which is always an issue.  My hair has been very soft and feels much healthier the last few weeks.  I haven’t been using any additional products like hair serums or oils on the ends like I usually do because I really wanted to get the full Maple Holistics experience.  I really haven’t felt the need for them except for a day or so before my next washing.  Keep in mind my hair gets quite a workout as I do spend time out in the sun throughout the day.  I also feel like I should really switch to a silk pillowcase because I feel like the cotton sucks the moisture out of my skin and hair, but that’s a whole other topic;)

Last but not least, I decided to try one of their skincare products!  I have heard so much about Vitamin C serums out on the market and haven’t had the opportunity to try one.  This facial serum is probably the purest Vitamin C serum on the market, and also contains Vitamins A & E, hyaluronic acid, and ferulic acid (just a hint of UV protection).  I usually only apply a product like this at night because it contains oil, and I hate to feel greasy during the day, but this serum was quite light in texture and absorbs quickly into the skin, so I can see it being a day time possibility for me.  The scent was probably the only thing that I found to be a bit different, but I feel like that happens to me when I try something new in its purest form.  I was really expecting a citrus scent, but (please don’t laugh) it smelled like beer to me!  I know..weird!
The results?  So far I have only tried this product out for a 2 weeks and when it comes to skincare I think it takes at least a month to see considerable results, but I have noticed that my skin is not as dry which also minimizes my little fine lines.  I will definitely continue using it as I see little changes already!
